The consumer electronics giant launched its latest line of front and top loading washer-dryer pairs and premium kitchen solutions at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last January 7 to 10.
CES is the “world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies”. It attracts more than 3,000 exhibitors and over 152,000 attendees from more than 150 countries.
Bigger, smarter, faster
The company’s 29-inch front load washing machine features the Allergiene™ Cycle which uses steam to remove allergens even from the most delicate of fabrics.
At a capacity of 5.2 cubic feet, LG’s newest front-loading washing machine can easily wash heavy and bulky fabrics in a single load. The company’s groundbreaking and proprietary TurboWash™ technology allows users to save up to 20 minutes per load by combining the spin and rinse cycles while Smart Diagnosis™ helps quickly and efficiently troubleshoot issues before they escalate.
The “convenience-enhancing” 29-inch front loader washer was named an Honoree in the CES Innovation Awards for its high-efficiency performance.
Meanwhile, the latest 29-inch dryer from LG makes history as the first in the U.S. to offer the energy-efficient Heat Pump drying technology. It reduces energy wastage by recycling heat generated during the drying process. Another pair of 29-inch washer-dryers also offers the convenience of near field communications or NFC tagging which allows users to download specialized washing cycles to their smartphones to be uploaded to the appliances.
During the CES, LG also unveiled its mega capacity 27-inch top loader washer-dryer. This power washing duo incorporates a new horizontal damping system that allows it to accommodate more laundry than similarly-sized models. The dryers are equipped with LG EasyLoad—a two-way door system for easier loading and unloading. The units are also compatible with LG’s HomeChat™ natural language technology which allows users to do tasks remotely or receive push alerts via their smartphones.
Premium kitchen showcase
In partnership with award-winning interior designer Nate Berkus, the LG Studio design team launched a winning combination of first-class styling and innovative technologies with a premium kitchen appliance solution.
The kitchen suite’s built-in refrigerator features large capacities and a host of smart features. The SpacePlus™ icemaker frees up top-shelf space by moving the ice maker into the door. The Smart Cooling Plus™ with Dual Evaporators reacts quickly to humidity and temperature changes to help keep food fresh. All Studio refrigerators are ENERGY STAR® qualified for energy efficiency.
The dishwashers feature LG’s TrueSteam™ technology which discharges powerful, high-temperature steam particles, eliminating the need for pre-washing dishes. The intelligent SmartRack™ design maximizes usable space and accommodates odd-shaped bowls, pans, platters and other items.
The LG Studio will delight all kinds of cooks and culinary enthusiasts with a comprehensive collection of cooking essentials including wall ovens, gas and electric cook tops, and slide-in and freestanding ranges. The wall oven features a Gourmet Recipe Bank with 100 recipes—42 of which are pre-programmed into the oven. The studio’s modular design also allows customers to customize the space to match the way they cook.
