With the ongoing issues of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) about the alleged anomalies involving ministers and Manalo family. Everyone were curious to know how celebrity members reacts and stand about their faith. To name the few celebrities, they are Kathryn Bernardo, Snooky Serna, Janice De Belen, Ejay Falcon, Yasmin Kurdi, Ruru Madrid and news anchors Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja.
But the above mentioned names were too quite. They never commented or published any reactions and comments toward the issues.
Apparently, one INC celebrity member open his reaction through his Facebook page. It’s Christopher Roxas, husband of Gladys Reyes. He is converted INC when he married actress Gladys Reyes.
Christopher reaction was posted on his Facebook page last July 23, 2015. See his statement below:
(Translation: For those asking and commenting about the INC, this is my stand. I am the Church of Christ. I am not anyone’s church. I obey the doctrine that I strongly believe in and do what the Bible says. The Church of Christ is a holy person. Everyone has its own way of wiping the table clean. Why should I look up at that person? Is he my God? When the time comes, I will not be the one facing his sin. He alone will do that. How could you take away my feelings when Christ called me?)
Christopher statement brought lots of admiration from his friends. This is clearly shows how he strongly stand to his religion and bravely enough to express it publicly.
His message also influence his wife actress Gladys Reyes to share her own sentiments through her Instagram account.
Her message is so simple: asking her brothers and sisters to continue holding on their faith and beliefs and telling them to continue lifting their spirits up high instead of dwelling to issues.
No one has the right to judge whatever the most followed church today is going through right now. Nor, no one has the right to judge the members if they want to keep silent or give an inspirational message. Popular or not, never underestimate the power of prayer.
