The grand winner of “The Voice Kids Season 1,” Lyca Gairanod who sang the song of Aegis hit song ‘Halik’ during the Blind Audition remains humble even after winning the singing contest on ABS-CBN last May 24, 2014.
Aside from her blooming singing career here and abroad, Lyca is still firm on her positive perspectives in life that both kids and teens nowadays should follow and apply to themselves despite of the high rage of the technology’s influence to all of us.

1. Be Appreciative
There was a time when Lyca do not have the time to take a bath simply because she’s busy scavenging used bottles, plastics and any other materials that they can use, sell and add to their family’s daily earnings. After winning the contest Lyca has now her own house and everything she wasn’t able to do in her life these past few years; she has now time for everything and look at her, still down-to-earth child and appreciative.
2. Save money as young as you are!
Nobody said life would be easy for every one of us but the problem these days, we are always hooked in the world of internet, gadgets and other material things you can avail both online or offline. No matter what your status in life would be either rich or poor, always remember there are people who wish to have the things and blessings that you’ve been trying to ignore. Instead of uncontrollable attitude of buying things that you actually don’t need; SAVE.
3. Do not absorb the negativity and criticism of others that pertains to you and your family.
Obviously, Lyca came from a struggling family where there’s no rest day even on Sundays.
Now she’s in the industry of showbiz, haters and bashers are inevitable, on her interview with Boy Abunda she have mentioned that it’s okay to her if everybody hates her for as long as there will still be few people who loves her and for her, those people are more than enough for her to continue fighting in life and working. Criticisms will always be there to knock you down but still, you’re the master of your faith!
4. Learn how to be satisfied
In Umagang Kay Ganda when Lyca got interviewed, she told the public that most of her clothes, shoes and dresses came from her fans. She never use money just for luxury because, she knows how it feels to have nothing.
5. Be selfless
Having parents beside you since birth, does not mean that you will depend to them all throughout your life.
Just like Lyca Gairanod, according to her it’s okay to be the breadwinner of the family, she has witnessed how hard life can become challenging even before joining The Voice Kids; Season One. For her, this is the most ideal time to pay her parents back with numerous foods, clothes and everything her parents deserve. Sometimes it pays to be selfless rather than being selfish because no matter how successful you are if you don’t know how to value your parents you will keep on falling apart.
