The stars of GMA-7’s Sunday All Stars (SAS) were shocked to learn that the musical variety show will be ending in August 2015, but they expressed confidence that the station has bigger plans for them in the future.
Kylie Padilla, Jake Vargas, and Aicelle Santos couldn’t hide their sadness when they learned of the show’s demise next month. SAS premiered on July 16, 2013 to replace Party Pilipinas.
“I was definitely shocked. We had fun and enjoyed doing the show, but it’s okay if the station decides to change the program,” Kylie said at the recent press conference for GMA’s new TV series Buena Familia.
She added that she is worried about her co-stars and hopes they could find new opportunities soon.
Jake and Aicelle, other SAS mainstays, likewise expressed sadness when told that the show would be axed, Jake learned that August 2, 2015, would be their last taping day.
“What a waste since we’ve been on air for a long time! We started on SOP and moved to Party Pilipinas before doing SAS. We loved the show and the cast had a special bond. We were like brothers, like family there. I can’t believe it’s over,” Bea Binene’s ex-boyfriend said.
Luckily, the three stars will be together again for Buena Familia. Joining them on the new series are Julie Ann San Jose, Martin Del Rosario, Mona Louise Rey, Julian Trono, Bobby Andrews, and Angelu De Leon. Watch out for it!
