After breaking two Guinness World Records for the screening of the historical-biographical film “Felix Manalo” for Largest audience at a film premiere and Largest attendance at a film screening, Iglesia in Cristo is set to attempt three more new world records come December 31 as they welcome in the New Year.
According to Abante Online, official representatives from Guinness World Records will witness Iglesia ni Cristo as they attempt to break world records for Largest Fireworks Display Longest Sparkler Relay and biggest New Year Countdown.
The famous trio of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paola Ballesteros will join Pops Fernandez and Apl de Ap in a grand concert for Iglesia ni Cristo New Year’s Celebration.
For now, a stage is being set up to accommodate a thousand people for the 2016 Countdown.
Norway holds the current Largest Fireworks Display with 540,382 fireworks in a 20-minute show but INC will break these records as fireworks display will be set around the Philippine Arena and the fireworks will last for about an hour.
For a religious organization, events such as this is not new, they have already achieved other eight Guinness World Records before the “Felix Manalo” movie event such as:
- The largest mixed use indoor theatre which was the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena
- The largest gospel choir during a worship service at 4,745 participants
- The largest charity walk done within 24 hours in multiple venues with a record number of 519,221 participants
- The largest charity walks in a single venue (Manila) with a record of 175,509 participants
- The most number of hunger relief packages distributed in eight hours in a single venue
- The largest dental health check
- The biggest number of blood pressure (BP) readings taken in eight hours
