“It’s Showtime” host and comedian Vice Ganda is against the Death Penalty Bill.
Vice, whose father was shot in front of him when he was a teenager, said that sentencing his father’s gunman on death row would be inhumane.
The 40-year-old comedian suggested the government should fix the country’s justice system instead of trying to bring back the death penalty.
The Kapamilya star also explained that no child should ever experience the pain he went through when he lost his father.
In the end, the host stressed his belief how important life is. He said, “Kaya hindi ako naniniwala na dapat may pinapatay dahil mahalagang mahalaga iyong buhay.”
Vice Ganda is not the only celebrity who opposes the death penalty. Stars such as Vilma Santos-Recto, Cherry Pie Picache and Agot Isidro already expressed their disapproval to its restoration.
