In few weeks, Kapuso fans will finally see actor Gil Cuerva on their television screens, thanks to his first-ever series “My Love from the Star” — a Filipino remake of the hit Koreanovela of the same name.
Gil was a model before he shifted as an actor. And now that Gil is a certified Kapuso artist, he admitted that he was shock upon entering the world of show business. He said, “It’s different from modelling. Different sacrifices but it’s something that I embrace.” In the meantime, Gil wants to concentrate in acting and how to become a great actor. He also revealed that he wanted to be a director someday.
Gil is considered to be a lucky actor regardless; not just because he is the main cast of “My Love from the Star”, but also due to his onscreen partner Jennylyn Mercado. He shared his experience with the Ultimate Star, especially, the time when they shot a scene where he and the actress kisses each other. Their kissing scene was reshot nine time.
“Nahiya ako. Siyempre si Jennylyn ‘yun. Talagang nahiya ako, kinabahan ako. Hindi lang basta-basta yung ka-kissing scene ko, si Jennylyn. I think, a lot of nervousness came out and it took a lot of tries para lang mawala yun,” Gil admitted.
Despite feeling awkward with his first kiss with Jennylyn, the actor said there were lot of scenes which he found to be exciting. For example, the series’ famous shower scene where he needed to flaunt his well-chiseled physique. He was wearing an underwear in the series and for Gil, the scene was not as awkward as the kissing moment with Jennylyn.
“Walang other person, ako lang naman. At saka, sa modelling, ang dami ko rin namang shirtless.”
It is believed that “My Love form the Star” is set to replace the AlDub series “Destined to Be Yours”. However, GMA Network has yet to announce the full details of the series’ airing.
