Social media has brought another inspiration and entertainment to its opinionated netizens. This week, actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis emerged as their top two inspirations. Meanwhile, the Kapamilya and Kapuso young stars, Kathryn Bernardo and Barbie Forteza, received criticisms online.
How did Angel and Anne win the heart of the netizens and why did these cybernauts lambasted Kathryn and Barbie? Ladies and gentlemen, bear with me as I elaborate the actions of these four actresses that made the most-talked-about personalities this week.
Angel Locsin has proven that she could be a superheroine in disguise as she visited the Marawi refugees in Iligan City. According to the reports, the “La Luna Sangre” star gave packed foods and school supplies to the evacuees.
As an ambassador of Philippine Red Cross, the Action-Drama Queen also donated blood for the same people who are affected by the crisis in Marawi City. The Facebook page of the organization even commended Angel, saying she never fails to do humanitarian work amidst the siege in Marawi.
She might be a b*tch in the eyes of some netizens, but Anne Curtis’ thoughtfulness to her late fan has won the hearts of many Filipino. Recently, a guy named Christian Alegre appealed to his followers and friends to share his status, asking Anne to visit the wake of his sister, Charlotte, who died of cancer.
The post eventually caught the attention of Anne. Despite her busy schedule, Anne visitied the wake of Charlotte. She was even seen comforting the family of her late fan and had offered Charlotte a prayer. Anne’s solicitous act was also praised by many netizens.
Kathryn Bernardo officially received the coveted blessings from Angel to become the newest star of the third “Lobo” franchise — “La Luna Sangre”. She and onscreen partner Daniel Padilla will be the series’ lead stars.
However, Kathryn has faced criticism a week before the premiere of “La Luna Sangre”, not because she will be topbilling the show, but because of the viral video of her ‘failed’ lip-syched performance in “ASAP” two years ago.
In the clip, Kathryn was caught lipsynching Ariana Grande’s international hit “Break Free”. The Queen of Hearts performed the song with her fellow It Girls Janella Salvador, Julia Barretto and Liza Soberano. Netizens made fun of Kathryn, advising the young star to focus on acting instead of showcasing her weakest talent.
Nonetheless, Kathryn proves that she’s not that kind of performer now when she performed the same song in “ASAP”. She’s indeed stronger and better (in lip-synching) than she has been before!
PS. Before someone labels me as biased and starts to bash me, you can check this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this as evidences that I love KathNiel to death! Okay, let’s move on. Kathryn’s a better lip-syncher now.
The old clip of Barbie Forteza with Kapuso actors such as Derrick Monasterio and Alden Richards was the laughingstock of the netizens last week. In the video, the “Meant to Be” star was singing Nikki Valdez’s “Meron Ba”. Barbie courageously sang the local hit with her unstable vocal sound.
The video was reuploaded in different Pinoy pages, mocking the singing talent of the Kapuso actress through a series of burlesque.
In this light, who do you think will become the next victim of throwback videos on social media?
