“It’s Showtime” and “Eat Bulaga” have new segments specifically exclusive for the gay community. Miss Q&A exhibits the wit of its contestants while Quiz Vee shows the intelligence of its players.
But which of these segments really won the hearts of many Filipinos? Let’s find out.
Miss Q&A
Miss Q&A received positive feedback from netizens upon its initial airing.
Netizens love the odd questions by the hosts towards the contestants such as “Kung dalawa na lang ang natitira mong ngipin, ano ang mas gusto mo — magkahiwalay o magkadikit?” and “‘Kapag may t’yaga, may nilaga’; pero bakit hindi sinigang ang ginamit sa kasabihan na ito?”
Of course, the candidates are expected to answer the questions in their wittiest style.
The winner will be determined by the combined score from the Hurados Karylle Tatlongg Hari, Jhong Hilario and 2011 Miss Universe third runner-up Shamcey Supsup. The lucky champion will receive P20,000 and will go back by next day to defend his title.
Quiz Vee
Prior to the hit Miss Q&A, “Eat Bulaga” has this segment called Quiz Vee. Like Q&A, the game is dedicated for gays. Thus, Kapuso fans have accused “It’s Showtime” of imitating “Eat Bulaga’s” game show despite its different concept — a bigotry in Kapuso-landia that is hard to fathom.
But wait… there’s more!
On the other hand, the segment was well-received by the show’s avid viewers. Netizens praised Quiz Vee’s informative style of attack to it’s players and viewers.
However, Quiz Vee lacked the spirit of excitement as the segment is like a typical game show — two players will press the buzzer if they know the answer. Nothing new.
And for those who want to know which segment has a stronger impact, let’s check these videos’ respective YouTube views and let the statistics speak for the readers.
Quiz Vee’s combined views on YouTube would only make 275,000 views compared to Miss Q&A’s two-day-old clip with 373,00 views.
So far, it’s crystal clear that Miss Q&A is funnier and more interesting to watch than Quiz Vee. “Eat Bulaga” should think of the better twists for their segment if they want it to be as extravagant as “It’s Showtime’s”.
