Audiences in the Philippines will soon get to enjoy reality shows that tackle three topics Pinoy millennials can’t get enough of—love, family, and food— thanks to a whole new roster of shows on iWant TV premiering on November 10.
Check out these shows produced by ABS-CBN Global Studios and made available for viewers in the Philippines for the first time via iWant TV.
- “Love & Gen Y”
Having trouble with the person you’re dating because it’s time to DTR? Or trying (and failing) to decode the opposite sex’s intentions? Fil-Am matchmaker and dating expert Camilla Ray speaks to different Gen Y millennials about the struggles of dating in the age of social media. Watch her and her Gen Y panelists hash out the ins and outs of dating as millennials attempt to learn wisdom from the “older” generation. The struggles of the dating world are more universal than we think, and regardless of your age, and “Love & Gen Y” helps us decode these problems.
- “Mom vs Matchmaker”
Picture this: you’ve gone from hearing “no boyfriend/girlfriend” lectures to “why don’t you have a BF/GF yet?!” Whether you’re newly single, single for a long time, or single since birth, you’ll appreciate watching the struggles of dating and finding someone to date, especially in the age of social media.
“Mom vs Matchmaker” will make you consider listening to moms and titas who keep insisting on setting you up. After all, whether we admit it or not, sometimes moms (or titas) know best. See what happens when a mom gets pitted against a professional Fil-Am matchmaker Camilla Ray as they choose the perfect date for her son or daughter.
- “Eat Your Words”
In the age of social media, “foodstagrams,” and online customer reviews, it seems everyone is a food critic—and chefs and restaurateurs are at their mercy. “Eat Your Words” brings chef and customer face to face, as chefs challenge amateur food critics to a cooking challenge.
Customers take on the task of recreating the dish they’ve reviewed, and as a role reversal, present their finished product to a panel of food critics and chefs. Will customers find some empathy for professional chefs?
- “The Nutshack”
Fans of stand-up comedy and slapstick humor will enjoy watching “The Nutshack,” an animated series centered on the lives of Filipinos in America and featuring the voice of comedian Rex Navarete. Follow Fil-am Phil, a teenager who grew up in San Francisco, Jack, his cousin who has just migrated from the Philippines, and their uncle Tito Dick as they get into scrapes and antics in Daly City.
Catch these reality TV shows produced and distributed internationally, only on iWant TV.
