- On-screen love team and real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre focused slightly far from the spotlight in 2017
- JaDine exercised their passion for music together and individually
You might be wondering why the Kapamilya love team consisting of James Reid and Nadine Lustre had some kind of a drought last year in terms of exposure. When their Primetime TV series “‘Til I Met You” ended in March, no other shows nor movies followed up exclusively for the two.
JaDine was blessed to be part of the growing noontime show “It’s Showtime!” family mid-year and news recorded that they’ve been doing separate projects in between. The remake of comic epic “Pedro Penduko” was entrusted to James and he debuted his music career. Likewise, Nadine begun to pursue her love for music as an untitled album is in the works. She also won the 2017 “FHM’s Sexiest Woman” title, by the way.
If you’re thinking that they simply ran out of opportunities and got too occupied with personal lives, that’s where you’re wrong. Not appearing so much on-screen doesn’t mean that their career died, it just goes to show that there are other things these artists had to tend to in order to keep up.
1. Overseas Tours
JaDine fans are not just Filipinos here in the country, there are also OFWs and foreigners who enjoy their chemistry. This is why the couple went on tour last March 2017 and visited their supporters from the following countries: California, Las Vegas, and Dubai. The tour ended by May and that’s the time they started to surface back on TV.
2. Individual career assignments
James and Nadine were given career opportunities outside their love team. They’ve both agreed that they’ve grown so much together that it’s an appropriate time for them to explore different things individually.
James was given the big action fantasy epic “Pedro Penduko” and comedy “The Granny,” which he will be paired with Sarah Geronimo. Aside from these, he fulfilled his dream of recording an album.
Nadine, on the other hand, has the thriller “The Nurse” brewing and romance-comedy “Ulan.” This year, she’s supposed to follow the path of her boyfriend as he takes on the music scene with an upcoming album.
3. Personal conflicts
It’s no secret that Nadine went through a rough time with her family when her younger brother died of suicide last October. Despite this, Nadine was seen brave on-screen on the ABS-CBN noontime show. However, like how all cope with death, the actress-host needed some time off as well.
James stood by the side of his girlfriend throughout the tragedy.
4. Relax and unwind
We all know that one of James and Nadine’s common grounds is their love for traveling. They make it sure that every once in a while, they get the chance to skip the showbiz hustle with some time just to themselves. They do this whenever they’re away to vacay!
Throughout 2017, aside from their tours, JaDine has been to the US, Middle East, Japan, and the beaches of Palawan and Bohol. If there are couples you want to tag as “goals,” they should qualify!
5. James’ own record label
It was in July last year that James released his album “Palm Dreams,” something that he said he had been working on for a long time. This is just the beginning of his emerging career in the music industry as he just opened his own record label entitled “Careless Music Manila.” It’s said to produce one track in Nadine’s as-yet-untitled album in 2018.
In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN, James shared that he’s glad to have finally put up a business where his heart belongs.
“I don’t feel like a CEO really it’s just I now have the freedom to make whatever music I want to,” he said.
6. Preparations for “Never Not Love You”
By the last part of 2017, JaDine finally revealed their much-anticipated reunion project with “On The Wings of Love” director Tonet Jadaone. A contemporary romance-drama about love among millennials is the main core of “Never Not Love You.”
The first behind-the-scenes photos of the said film were uploaded to social media and its aesthetically-pleasing vibe excite the couple’s fans! Since that moment, the two were seen taping and getting ready for their scenes.
7. “Revolution” concert
Because of their shared passion for music, James and Nadine had been busy collaborating for their much-awaited return on the local concert stage for “Revolution.” Their second major concert will take place at the Araneta Coliseum on February 9.
During their press conference, the two shared their excitement for this project. They said that they really worked hard to get this show on the road and they couldn’t be any more thrilled to give back to their fans through it.
