On November 30, Annabelle Rama (@AnnabelleRama2), wrote on the microblogging site her plans for her son and talent Richard Gutierrez, “Sa lahat ng mga nagtatanong kung saang tv network lilipat si Chard, wait nyo na lang sa January 21 ang big announcement, thanks.”
Her son, Richard, ended his 11-years of being an exclusive Kapuso by not renewing his TV contract with GMA Network. Richard’s contract with GMA-7 was not renewed for many reasons. According to Richard before he decided to take a long break, he needs “to unwind and relax, spend time with my family, and to think about things, to see where I want to go and what to do.”
Richard may be a freelancer on TV but he’s still got an outstanding contract with GMA Films. He will still do “Overtime” movie with Lauren Young. (see: Richard Gutierrez-Lauren Young in GMA Films’ “Overtime”)
Speculations about matinee idol leaving GMA Network have now its confirmation. There will be two networks for him to transfer, ABS-CBN or TV5. Let’s just wait and see what happens next on January 21 next year!
