Award-winning actress Lorna Tolentino (LT) would have made a good addition to the cast of “Beautiful Strangers.”
Unfortunately, this did not materialize because of her high talent fee.
A recent report said the GMA Network production team did what it could to have LT on board for the new series. However, the deal fell flat since the TV5 actress wanted more. They couldn’t tap LT since they were way over budget.
That’s a crying shame since LT would have worked with Lovi Poe and Heart Evangelista on the show. Still, the actress is happy to be in TV5’s new weekly series “Misterless Misis.” After shooting in Dasmariñas, Cavite, she goes straight to her farm in Tagaytay.
“She really enjoys taping in Cavite every Wednesday. After packing up, LT goes to her farm,” said Manay Lolit Solis, Lorna’s manager. “So, from Thursday to Saturday afternoon, she keeps a low profile as a farm girl and likes it. She enjoys farming.”
Also starring in the TV5 show are Ritz Azul, Gelli de Belen, and Ruffa Gutierrez.
Cut-off at 2 a.m.
Unknown to many, LT turns down projects that don’t follow her 2 a.m. cut-off time rule, according to a Philstar report. The actress doesn’t want working until late in the morning.
In 2011, she signed an exclusive contract with TV5 and didn’t extend her stay at ABS-CBN. LT said it’s not about the money, but she wants to maximize her “time, talent, and exposure on TV.”
In a Yahoo report, she admitted that the Kapatid network offered her a contract of 140 working days yearly, which is more than ABS-CBN’s 85-working day offer. LT stressed she has no rift with ABS-CBN, the same way she was in good terms with GMA 7 when she moved to the former.
