Familiarity breeds contempt as the saying goes. TV viewers familiar with the popular AlDub “kalyeserye” on GMA Network’s longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga!” no doubt know that the series has put the show on top of the ratings game again.
The droll duo of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza has elevated the station way above the competition and has given birth to numerous copycats who hope to duplicate the successful love team.
Perhaps this is the reason why bashers have resurrected the case of the late starlet Pepsi Paloma (Delia Smith in real life) who tragically ended her life at the tender age of 17. Paloma was found hanging inside a closet at the second floor of her apartment in Sta. Mesa Heights, Quezon City on May 31, 1985.
See what some netizens say:
The 80s star was part of the so-called “soft drink beauties” managed by Rey dela Cruz that included Sarsi Emmanuelle and Coca Nicolas. She was only 14 when she made her first hit movie in 1981 in Celso Ad Castillo’s “Brown Emmanuelle” where she bared everything. A string of bold movies followed, but Pepsi will forever be remembered for the case she filed against “Eat Bulaga!” mainstays Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and the late comedian Ritchie D’ Horsie (Ricardo Reyes) in July 1982. She claimed that the three took her to a bar, drugged her, and raped her together with fellow actress Guada Garin at the Sulo Hotel in Quezon City. Pepsi was 15 at that time.
