The country’s songbird had expressed her true feelings when an interview from Pep.ph, opened-up a topic asking about her reasons for not joining the currently running, GMA’s Sunday noontime show, “Sunday Pinasaya”.
According to Regine, she has to consider her co-hosts from the previous show “Sunday All Stars” that was replaced by the prior mentioned show. She is supposed to appear alongside Ai-Ai delas Alas and Marian Rivera. But then, now that it is airing, Regine did not push through on the offer. Here is her statement;
“I was feeling kinda bad naman na ako lang yung may trabaho, yung iba kong kasama…” (I’m feeling kinda bad if I’m the only one to be given work while my other companions…)
“Naintindihan naman nila Mr. [Antonio] Tuviera.” (It was fully understood by Mr. [Antonio] Tuviera.)
“But I was actually very excited at first, kasi makakasama ko sina YanYan, si Ai-Ai. (But I was actually very excited at first, because I will be joining YanYan and Ai-Ai.)
“I was supposed to take care of the musical part.”
“But medyo nahihiya lang din ako sa mga naging kasama ko. (But I’m a bit of shy and feel bad for my old companions.)
“Kumbaga, naging show ko rin naman ‘yon [Sunday All Stars]. (It’s because, I was also part of that show {Sunday All Stars}).
“Nahihiya lang ako and they understand naman,” paliwanag ng Asia’s Songbird. (I really feel shy about it and I think they understand my reason.)
The show “Sunday Pinasaya” is a production collaboration of GMA 7 and APT, owned by Mr. Antonio Tuviera.
With the said noontime show, the only remaining hosts that came from the previously replaced program, “Sunday All Stars” are Alden Richards, Julie Anne San Jose and Barbie Forteza.
In all fairness, Regine have expressed no regrets about her decision. For her former co-hosts were also her family, they made strong ties through the years. Who knows, we might find her and her former co-hosts on a future show together again.
