Vice Ganda had a chance to grill Daniel Padilla and Diego Loyzaga intensely when the two actors, along with Alex Diaz, guested on his show “Gandang Gabi Vice” last February 7, 2016.

At first, Vice simply congratulated the three actors for their good work on the soon-to-end teleserye “Pangako Sa’Yo”. Then, Vice asked them how long they have been friends. Daniel pointed out that he had known Diego since 2011.
But the atmosphere started heating up when Vice took a line of questioning that pertained to Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel’s reel (and real?) love team partner.
Vice initially asked Daniel if he is close to Diego, to which Daniel answered affirmatively. Then, Vice half-asked and half-commented, “E di ba, nanligaw kay Kathryn dati yan?” (Didn’t he court Kathryn before?)
Diego admitted that he did court Kathryn, but it was a long time ago. He said it happened during their high school years. It was apparent that Diego found it very awkward to talk about it.
But Vice was very persistent and refused to let go of the topic. He continued his line of questioning with Diego, grilling Diego to the point that he looked very uncomfortable in his seat.
Diego used the term MU (mutual understanding) to describe his courtship of Kathryn, but took it back and said he just took a liking to Kathryn back then.
Vice Ganda then asked Diego where Daniel was, during the time that he was emoting for or courting Kathryn. It was Daniel who answered immediately. He said he was there.
The GGV host reacted by saying, “Oh my God, bakit hinahayaan mo?” (OMG, why did you allow it?). Then Daniel said, “Ano’ng hinayaan? Inagaw ko nga e.” (What do you mean allow? I even snatched her/took her away.)
Vice couldn’t help but jump up and down with joy when he heard Daniel’s answer. We’re pretty sure thousands of fans watching the show jumped as much as Vice did.
Daniel then said it was just a joke. He said, he actually asked for Diego’s permission so he could court Kathryn.
Diego explained that he gave way to Daniel because he saw that Kathryn was happy with Daniel. He added, it’s not that he’s being a martyr but because Kathryn has also been his friend since high school.
So there, KathNiel fans! Daniel’s words leave no room for doubt as to how much he feels for Kathryn.
