Did “Eat Bulaga’s” ‘KalyeSerye’ made an insensitive joke alluding to Wenn Deramas?

Social media was once again set ablaze after some dedicated and passionate Kapamilya fans interpret the ‘jokes’ made in a latest episode of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye segment as insensitive and offensive towards the untimely passing of Wenn Deramas.

The March 1st, 2016 episode of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye was questioned by inflamed fans as it includes various jokes which somehow allude to or something similar with what happened to the well-loved box office director Wenn Deramas.

The videos in question were the following moments in the popular Eat Bulaga segment:

The first segment that some people found offensive was the part when Lola Nidora, a character played by Wally Bayola brought out a jewelry box in which he comment,“Puwede nang itapon ito.” (“We can already throw this out.“)

Lola Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) then interjected with, “Ano ba, si Lolo ‘to.” (“Wait up! This is grandfather’s.“)

Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo) answered back and made joke which was questioned, “Ano’ng si Lolo, ‘yan yung abo ng bading kahapon.” (“What are you talking about, that’s not grandfather! That’s the ashes of the gay yesterday.“)

While this can easily be argued that Jose Manalo playing as Lola Tinidora simply mention the February 29, 2016 ‘Juan for All, All for Juan’s Sugod-Bahay segment winner which you can watch here:

However, the passionate fans have interpreted this as an allusion to the late-Wenn Deramas which they think is insensitive and offensive especially as Jose blatantly drops ‘bading’ (‘gay‘) which also is the sexual orientation of Direk Wenn.
