Chris Brown-Derulo Lookalike’s story in “I Love OPM” inspires judges and netizens

Looks like ABS-CBN found a real “Be My Lady” story that inspires the viewers and netizens through the life of Hawaiian singer Jeff James, who looks like Chris Brown and/or Jason Derulo.


On the Saturday episode (March 5, 2016) of ABS-CBN’s “I Love OPM”, Jeff James wows the judges with his soulful voice and heartwarming performance as he sings “Buko”, which means “Buhay Ko”by Jireh Lim which he dedicated to his beloved Filipina wife.

“Ang ganda ng pagkakaawit mo dahil siguro inspirado ka dahil nandito ‘yung asawa mo. Ipagpatuloy n’yo lang ang inyong pagmamahalan at na-inspire kami sa love story n’yo”,  judge Toni Gonzaga said.

For judge Martin Nievera, Jeff’s performance is all perfect. “You’ve got the Filipino heart, you love OPM, you love your life, you love your wife, everything is perfect,” judge Martin Nievera says to Jeff.

“Wala na kaming maibibigay sa ‘yo when it comes to singing kasi ang sarap mo kumanta, nag-eenjoy kami,” judge Lani Misalucha said.

Netizens also took social media to express their emotions after watching Jeff James’ inspiring story and performance.


The Chris Brown- Jason Derulo lookalike is a multi awarded and known singer in his hometown. Tagged as Hawaii’s Hitmaker for making the number one (1) songs in Hawaii and Japan charts, who had left everything on the peak of his career when he followed his heart and live in the Philippines.

Since then, Jeff James did his best to adapt to Philippine culture by learning “Tagalog” language and living a very humble life different from Hawaii. He then fall in love with our “Original Pilipino Music” as he began to understand the meaning of each song. 

This guy truly have a soulful voice and sings with his heart.

Jeff will proceed to the second stage of the competition as he is included in the “Top Twenty Four (24)” touristars.
