In the winners announcement Pep.ph listed the phenomenal loveteam AlDub as winners of the Newsmakers of the Year and Celebrity Pair of the Year categories but votes tally says DongYan (Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera) and KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) should be the real winners respectively.

She also questioned how millions of invalid votes would only be attributed to DongYan and KathNiel and not on AlDub.

Another Entertainment Blogger Rod Magaru also picked up the issue saying DongYan and KathNiel fans cried foul over the alleged rigged result. He also called Pep to explain and give more info about the discrepancy.

Meanwhile, on their article, Pep reiterated that the result was validated and audited by credible auditing firm Punongbayan and Araullo.

“The votes were tabulated by Punongbayan & Araullo, the official auditing partner of PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

For the sake of fairness, all invalid votes (invalid user IDs, no user IDs, votes in excess of 100 per user ID) were nullified.”
