One of Kamapilya netowrk’s top actors John Lloyd Cruz admitted that he was once a victim of internet trolls.
After the anniversary press conference for his sitcom “Home Sweetie Home,” Cruz shared his thoughts about internet trolls who have been bashing Maxine Medina since she failed to win the crown for the 65th Miss Universe.
Cruz shared that he was also a victim of cyber bullying.
“May mga na-experience ako dati pero, ano eh, I think ‘yung mga taong ‘to are very unreasonable.
“They don’t really care about the content of their statement. Parang ‘di ko talaga sila ma-gets, especially kapag pamilya na n’ung tao ‘yung dinadamay nila.”
The actor also said that people should not go down to trolls’ level. “Parang hindi ka na dapat bumaba sa level nila. ‘Yung iba nga, pinagkakakitaan pa (ang internet trolling) which is so unfortunate for them,” he added.
Finally, Cruz said that trolls can be likened to parasites and that they need to rethink and reexamine their intentions in social media.
“But you know, siguro, isip-isipin n’yo rin kasi para na rin kayong mga parasites, ‘di ba? Kumikita po kayo at the expense of other people, especially ‘yung mga tao na nagpapakahirap magtrabaho para sa ibang tao—‘yung mga nagpupuyat pong artista, mga talagang mahal na ‘yung kanilang pamilya—talagang ginagawa ang lahat para matustusan ‘yung mga pangangailangan nila at mga hinahangad sa buhay tapos imbis na makatulong tayo, hinihila pa natin pababa.
“Maybe it’s the good time para i-examine din natin ‘yung intentions natin.”
Definitely, trolls are everywhere. They can ruin your life and can change your lifestyle. But one thing is for sure: as long as we know how to use the social media in the right way, we could stay safe and live a happy life without these internet trolls.
Kudos to Papa Lloydie for this one-of-a-kind advice!
