Like every artist who starred in an independent film, Iza Calzado also raised her concern over the lack of cinemas that have been showing her film “Bliss”.
But, instead of lamenting, the Kapamilya actress encouraged her fans to watch her film, directed ny Jerrold Tarog.
On her Instagram account, the 34-year-old posted a scene from the film where she can be seen sitting on a wheelchair. She captioned it: “My face when they told me we only had 6 cinemas left. Gising na Jane!!! We need to get more theaters!! #blisspamore #blissph.”
Iza stressed that the film needs to be shown in more theatres. Although there were successful blockscreening for “Bliss”, these were not enough sustain momentum.
It could be remembered that Iza Calzado bagged the Best Actress award at Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan. However, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has given “Bliss” a Rated R classification for its theme.
Tarog’s “Bliss,” a psychological thriller starring Iza Calzado, had been deemed unfit for exhibition in local theaters and TV supposedly for scenes featuring prolonged frontal nudity, excessive violence, and masturbation. However, MTRCB reversed the earlier classification and gave the film a
“unanimous” R-18 rating without cuts.
