- Former PBB Big Winner Myrtle Sarrosa makes her fans proud after graduating from UP Diliman as a cum laude
After six long years of waiting, Myrtle Sarrosa finally made it.
On Saturday, she proudly left the campuses of University of the Philippines-Diliman and excitingly welcomes a new journey ahead.
Myrtle shared that it was not an easy ride especially when she started entering the show business. She even thought that she’ll never make this day happen.
“Nag-aral ako ng BA Broadcast Communication, ga-graduate ako ng cum laude, six years ko siyang kinuha ‘tapos sinabay ko talaga siya sa pagsyu-showbiz, sobrang hirap.
“May mga araw talaga na magte-taping kami ng 6:00 am tapos matatapos na minsan kami ng 5:00 am tapos may class ako ng 7:00 am the following day.
“Walang tulog tapos sa school yung class ko from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm tapos the following day magte-taping uli, so challenge talaga siya para sa akin.
“Nagkaroon pa ng mga pangyayari beforehand kasi sinabihan na ako tapos bigla nilang binawi kasi mayroon akong leave of absence.
“’Tapos, yung nangyari was jinustify nila na dahil nga naging working student ako, parang na-realize nila na dapat may understanding din para sa mga working students.
“Nung nag-provide kami ng evidence, binigyan nila ako ng chance na ibalik nila sa akin yung honor.
“Now, officially ga-graduate ako at magmamartsa as cum laude.”
She rose to fame upon exiting the “Pinoy Big Brother” house as the Big Winner in her season back in 2012. Myrtle was a popular cosplayer that time.

Projects
Now that she finished her course, BA Broadcast Communication, what could be in store for Myrtle?
“Actually, sobrang blessed ko.
“Right after kong matapos yung finals exam ko, ang daming dumating na projects.
“I’ll be doing dalawang films under Regal tapos ngayon, kabilang ako sa La Luna Sangre.
“Ako yung kanang kamay ni Richard Gutierrez bilang Terrene, isa rin akong bampira.
“Sobrang blessed namin kasi nung ini-air siya two days ago, magkakasama kaming lahat sa set, nakita ko yung excitement sa buong team, sa buong crew at sa lahat ng casts.
“Lalo na kila Kath and Daniel, alam mo naman na excited sila to do this project at sobrang bagay talaga sa kanila yung role.
“Ngayon tinutul uy-tuloy ko na yung opportunities na dumarating, tinatanggap ko na.
“Nung sinabay ko siya, may mga teleserye akong tinurned down na hindi ko tinanggap pero ngayon I’m back 100%.
“Masaya talaga ako na I pursued my studies.”
