- Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid recently felt sad for her husband, singer-composer Ogie Alcasid because he lost an important TV project recently.
- It was reported that Alcasid was supposed to host ABS-CBN’s new international franchise called “Little Big Shots Philippines.”
- The management of ABS-CBN was said to have pushed for Alcasid but the franchise owners wanted someone who has a hold in the international scene, so they chose Billy Crawford instead to become its host for the Philippine version.
They say if it’s not meant for you, then you have to let it go. Cliche as it may sound but it’s true. Sometimes blessings come in disguise.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez recently felt sad over her husband, Ogie Alcasid’s supposedly TV project for ABS-CBN called “Little Big Shots Philippines.”
Apparently, Alcasid has done mock up shoot for the said TV show as the Kapamilya network really handpicked Alcasid to host the said talent show for kids.
Unfortunately, since it’s an international franchise, they had the last say on whoever it is that they wanted to host the show. So even if Alcasid was ABS-CBN’s choice, the franchise owners picked Billy Crawford over Alcasid. Billy doesn’t really mind if he’s the second choice. He’s got no mean bone on his body.
The franchise owners wanted someone with an international exposure and since Billy used to be an international singing sensation, he ended up as the host for the said TV show.
In fairness to Alcasid, he’s got everything that the show needs for its host. He’s an industry leader, OPM president, a good husband and father and he knows well how to connect with children.
Not to demean Billy too, the guy is also a good choice as host. Billy had always been a reliable TV host and he’s proven it through time and again. Maybe this project was really meant and intended for Billy.
Regine was reportedly sad that this project went to Billy instead of her husband. It’s not because she’s got something against Billy. But she knew that her husband has long prepared for this. It’s pretty understandable why Regine was somewhat disappointed that this project eventually fell into someone else’s lap instead of Ogie’s.
Maybe things aren’t really meant to be. And who knows? Ogie might be tapped to do other bigger projects in the future too. As they say, big opportunities come to those who patiently wait.
