The 25-year old actor answered bashers who questioned him in replacing Christian Bables in “Born Beautiful.”
The IdeaFirst Company, headed by award winning directors Jun Lana and Perci Intalan, released a statement about major changes in the upcoming spin-off series “Born Beautiful.”
It was announced that Kapuso actor Martin del Rosario will be playing ‘Barbs,’ ‘Trisha Echeverria’s (played by Paolo Ballesteros) bestfriend in the award-winning movie “Die Beautiful”
IdeaFirst Company revealed that Christian Bables would not be able to play the role, that gave him awards in various award-giving bodies.
Here is the complete official statement of the film outfit:
“Award-winning actor Martin del Rosario is now the lead star of Jun Robles Lana’s DIE BEAUTIFUL spin-off series, BORN BEAUTIFUL. After starring in a number of acclaimed independent films — among them ‘Dagitab’ which won for him an Urian award — Martin will portray the expanded role of Barbs, the best friend of Paolo Ballesteros’s character Trisha.
“Direk Jun explained that it was an interesting twist of fate that led to this casting of Martin, ‘Christian Bables expressed to us that he is no longer available to do Born Beautiful, that allowed me and the creative team to rethink the character of Barbs and what the character can do. We thought of Martin because we recently worked with him when we produced Prime Cruz’s ‘Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B’ and we know he can bring in a new dimension to the character now that the entire series revolves around Barbs.’
“BORN BEAUTIFUL will go into production this November and will be seen on Cignal Entertainment in early 2018.”
On the other hand, Martin answered bashers who questioned his capabilities to portray the award-winning role. On his latest tweet, he expressed his sentiments about the issue thrown at him.
“Walang pinanganak na pangit. Everybody is BORN BEAUTIFUL,” he tweeted.
On his other tweet, he answered netizens who doubt his acting prowess.
“Respect is given to people who deserve it. Respect is earned,” he tweeted.
On his other tweets, he called out the fans of Christian Bables to give him a chance to portary the role. “Barbs fans, hope u give me a chance. To Christian na magaling na actor, i will try to give justice to the role.”
