PDP-Laban released their senatorial candidates in the midterms elections in 2019. House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez announced that blogger-turned-Malacañang official Mocha Uson and newly-appointed Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque are included in their senatorial slate.
Alvarez made the announcement during the mass oath taking of local allies who belong to the local party One Cebu and those who had jumped ship from the former ruling Liberal Party. He mentioned the names of Uson and Roque together with those of Davao City Representative Karlo Nograles, Negros Occidental Albee Benitez, Bataan Representative Geraldine Roman, and defeated 2016 presidential candidate Francis Tolentino.
Meanwhile, netizens reacted on the announcement of PDP-Laban Party. Most of them disapproved Mocha on their senatorial list for 2019.
PDP-Laban, if they have any decency left, will not let Mocha Uson run for Senator knowing that it takes more than a substantial social media following to deserve a seat. This is an insult to democracy and a mockery of the intelligence of the Filipino voters. #NoToMocha2019
