- “MUKHA” revisits award-winning “Sustansya” documentary this Wednesday on ANC
- Witness the unconditional love of Lydia Tabada as she strives to save her children from hunger and sickness in the final installment of the “Just Love” series of “Mukha”
Award-winning documentary series “Mukha” revisits the story on a mother’s fight to keep her malnourished children alive to conclude its month-long “Just Love” series on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel this Wednesday (December 27) at 6:30 pm.
Entitled “Sustansya,” which was hailed as the Most Outstanding Short Film at the 2017 Save the Children Media Awards, the documentary captures the unconditional love of Lydia Tabada as she strives to save her children from hunger and sickness.
One of her kids died due to complications caused by malnutrition in 2015 and her four other kids have been sick since then. One can instantly notice how undernourished they are with their languid eyes, thinning hair, and skinny limbs. The local health center classified them as “severely wasted,” or “too thin for their age.” This manifests through the constant cough, colds, and stomachaches.
Nothing can be more painful for a mother than to see her children in this state. Lydia hopes hunger will no longer haunt her and the rest of other Filipino families.
“Mukha” made history last year after winning a Silver Dolphin at the 7th Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards in France. It was also a finalist at the 2017 New York Festivals Awards for International TV programs and Films for its entry “Serbisyo” in the Current Affairs category.
