Jennylyn Mercado has been a loyal Kapuso artist. She also rose to fame when she became StarStruck season 1 Ultimate Star in 2003. In Vinia Vivar’s article in Philstar.com, Jennylyn shared what made her loyal to GMA Network. Jennylyn also used to star in a Kapamilya series.
According to Jennylyn, she admitted that she had tried to work for other networks. However, she loved how GMA Network made her feel.
“Hindi talaga, ang masasabi ko lang, masaya ako rito. ‘Yung mga taong nagtatrabaho sa loob ng GMA-7, iba silang magmahal, eh. Iba silang mag-alaga. So, bakit ako maghahanap ng ibang mag-aalaga?”
Jennylyn also started as a recording artist with Alpha Records in 1999. She also used to be a member in Nonoy Tan’s singing group, G4.
However, the group never released an album until two of the four members dropped out. After the group, Jennylyn became a commercial model. ABS-CBN’s TV series, Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay became Jennylyn’s debut appearance in a minor role in 2002. The said series also starred Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.
