  • Ronaldo-Salah showdown on as Real Madrid faces Liverpool for crown

Filipino football fans will get to witness the championship match of one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world LIVE this Sunday (May 27),2:35 am with the telecast of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Final on ABS-CBN S+A.

Defending UCL kings Real Madrid, led by star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, will go for the club’s 13th UCL crown when they play Mohamed Salah and the Liverpool Reds at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Zinedine Zidane’s squad is going for its third straight title in the UCL, Europe’s premier cup competition, while Jürgen Klopp’s team hopes to bring home the trophy after losing to A.C. Milan in its last final appearance back in 2007.

It will be full of fireworks with both teams being bannered by two of football’s finest athletes.  Ronaldo, Los Blancos’ Portuguese star, leads the UCL in goals this season with 50, and will come into the final with nine goals in the last ten games for club and country. Liverpool’s Salah, who will play in his first UCL final, is no pushover with 48 goals this season, and has scored eight in his last ten games. The Egyptian star has been having a great year, winning awards left and right including the English Premier League’s Golden boot and the 2018 FWA Footballer of the Year award.

Together with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Salah hopes to lead the Reds to its sixth UCL title, the first since 2005, against the formidable Los Blancos led by 5-time Ballon d’Or awardee Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale.

Filipinos have been enjoying live football matches in the English Premier League, La Liga, and UEFA Champions League since December 2017 through the partnership of ABS-CBN Integrated Sports and Hong Kong-based holding company Triple CH.
