GMA Network’s “Eat Bulaga” held a grand transformation day for all the hosts of the show called ‘SEEN-A-Like, SING-A-Like’ while ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” staged the Grand Finals of ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.
“It’s Showtime’s” ‘Tawang ng Tanghalan’ Grand Finals
After a year of scouring the whole archipelago and the world, “Tawag ng Tanghalan” places its 12 best singers with different styles and strengths on their final journey to become the newest grand champion in the competition’s highly anticipated grand finals on “It’s Showtime.”
Sixteen-year-old student Janine Berdin of Cebu shone the brightest in “Tawag ng Tanghalan’s” grand finals as she became the latest singer to be named as the grand champion of the biggest singing competition in the country on “It’s Showtime” at the Aliw Theater.
Janine recorded the highest total average score of 96.11% from the combined hurado scores and text and online votes, thrashing other grand finalists Ato Arman (74.27%) of Bukidnon and Steven Paysu (61.80%) of California, USA.
“Tawag ng Tanghalan” is the biggest singing competition with global eliminations, enlisting contenders from Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, North America, and Europe. Launched in 1953, the legendary singing contest was loved by Filipinos across different generations and produced some of the most respected icons in the music industry. It returned to television in 2016, opening its stage to the most talented Filipino singers and has since become a daily TV viewing habit watched by millions on TV and online.
