The Philippine adaptation of the hit South Korean film Miss Granny is a certified hit on its first day. Miss Granny earned ₱7.8-million on its first day in cinemas nationwide.
According to producer Viva Films, it opened with strong ticket sales. Viva Films wrote on Twitter, “Tumatak sa puso’t isipan! MARAMING SALAMAT sa pagtangkilik sa sariling atin!”
Viva Films is hoping to add it in the list of top grossing films this year. The production house already has three box office hits this 2018.
Meet Me in St. Gallen earned ₱75M, Never Not Love You had a domestic gross of ₱92M, while Sid and Aya: Not a Love Story holds the no.1 spot with ₱160M.
Star Cinema also has three movies which made it to the top list namely Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes, My Perfect You, and Kasal, with an estimated earning of ₱100M each.
₱7.8M is a pretty good start for Miss Granny and it gets even better. On the second day, Viva Films announced that the movie already earned a total gross of ₱13.8M.
And as of August 25 based on Viva Films official Twiter account, the movie has already reached ₱21.5 million.
