Acer had a surprise for tech and gadget lovers as it recently announced its refreshed and newest gadgets that are meant to make the users’ experience easier, more fun, and more convenient.
Headlining the announcement is the elegant refresh of its Aspire Z 24 all-in-one PC and brand-new additions to the Aspire 7, Aspire 5, and Aspire 3 notebooks series. All powered by Windows 10, the Aspire series PCs cater to the needs of a wide range of users, spanning from the Aspire Z 24 all-in-one home PC for families, the multipurpose and student-friendly Aspire 3 notebook, the practical and functionality-driven Aspire 5 notebook for work and play, to the top-of-the-line Aspire 7 notebook for creators, designers and prosumers.
The Aspire Z 24 all-in-one is stylish and designed for web browsing, social media posting, watching movies and casual gaming, making it ideal as the centerpiece for the living room. It is powered by the latest 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7+ desktop processors, with support for up to 32GB of Intel® Optane™ memory and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX150 graphics.
The Aspire 7 notebook weighs 1.5 kg, measures 358 x 247.5 x 16.9 mm, and at its heart lies a powerful 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8705G or i5-8305G processor featuring Radeon™ RX Vega M GL graphics. Meanwhile, the Aspire 5 mid-range notebook is ideal for families and users who need a powerful, and function-rich notebook for media consumption. Lastly, the Aspire 3 entry-level notebook comes in vivid colors and is perfect for delivering powerful multimedia experiences and entertainment.
At the next@acer Global Press Conference at IFA, Acer also announced its new Acer Windows Mixed Reality headset, the Acer OJO 500. The new headset features a one-of-a-kind detachable design that offers superior flexibility, comfort, and hygiene for consumers and businesses. “The Acer OJO 500 brings several significant new features to this class of Windows Mixed Reality headsets,” said Andrew Chuang, General Manager, Presence Computing, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “We’ve improved the user experience with innovative visual and audio technologies and made the headset more comfortable and easier than ever to use.”
The announcements don’t end there, as Acer also announced its new PL and SL series projectors—the Acer PL6610 (WUXGA), PL6510 (1080p), SL6610 (WUXGA) and the SL6510 (1080p)—powered by laser light sources, with the SL series offering short throw projection in tight spaces such as classrooms, and the PL series for customers who are less space conscious. Designed for customers looking for a reliable, low maintenance projector solution, they are optimized for large venues and demanding commercial and educational applications.
Moreover, Acer unveiled a host of new products in its expanding Predator and Nitro gaming portfolio with the launch of four new gaming monitors that bring games to life, a next-level gaming chair and a complete set of gaming gadgets. “Our battle-tested Predator gaming monitors have proven their quality and reliability as a top choice of pro-gamers and tournaments around the world,” said Victor Chien, President, Digital Display Business, Acer Inc. “We’re now waterfalling our experience and technology to our Nitro series to make premium gaming experiences more accessible to users.”
On the other hand, StarVR Corporation, founded as a joint venture between Acer and Starbreeze, unveiled its next-generation VR headset specifically architectured to support the most optimal life-like VR experience to date to meet commercial and enterprise needs and requirements. StarVR One is a one-of-its-kind VR head mounted display that provides nearly 100-percent human viewing angle. StarVR One features key technology innovations critical to redefine what’s possible in virtual reality. Featuring the most advanced optics, VR-optimized displays, integrated eye tracking, and vendor-agnostic tracking architecture, StarVR One is built from the ground up to support the most demanding use cases for both commercial and enterprise sectors.
Completing the lineup of announcements, Acer announced the pricing and availability of the Swift 5 (SF515-51T) notebook, the world’s lightest notebook PC with a 15-inch display. Designed for discerning customers who want an envy-inducing PC, the Swift 5 delivers exceptional performance in an elegant chassis that weighs less than one kilogram (990 g/2.2 pounds).
