- The Kapuso Network had the biggest lead on the afternoon block against the Kapamilya Network.

GMA Network dominated nationwide television ratings. This was based on the latest data from the network ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement or NUTAM.
Tech Jungle: ABS CBN TV Plus Go Review
GMA Network won the game against ABS-CBN with 42.6% average total day people audience share in NUTAM while the latter only earned 38.9% from August 1 to 31 (with August 26 to 31 based on overnight data). Audiences continued to watch GMA network more than ABS-CBN as it widened its lead across all-day viewing blocks.
Morning, afternoon and evening block.
GMA maintained its lead in the morning block when it garnered 38.9% audience share against its rival’s 34.2%. The afternoon block became GMA’s biggest turf with 44.3% audience share compared to ABS-CBN’s 34.9%. In the evening block, GMA got an average of 43% against ABS-CBN’s 37.9%.
Urban Luzon and Mega Manila.
Kapuso network rated 72% and 59% in Urban Luzon and Mega Manila respectively. GMA had an average of total day people audience share of 48% in Urban Luzon while ABS-CBN got 30.2%. From August 1 to 25, the Kapuso network received an average total day people audience share of 49.4% in Mega Manila while the Kapamilya network had 27.7%.
Top 10 Highest-Rating Programs.
According to NUTAM, GMA Network had seven spots out of the Top 10 Top-Rating Programs with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) reigning as the most-watched Kapuso program.
Kambal Karibal, Pepito Manaloto, 24 Oras, Victor Magtanggol, Onanay and Magpakailanman followed KMJS on the list. The Clash, Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko, Amazing Earth, Inday Will Always Love You, 24 Oras Weekend, Wowowin, Imbestigador, Eat Bulaga, Sunday Pinasaya and Kapuso Movie Night completed the network’s list of ratings drivers for August.
Of the Top 10 programs in Urban Luzon, nine are Kapuso shows, dominating the list. Nielsen recorded the data with a greater number of sampled homes nationwide in comparison to Kantar Media. Nielsen surveyed through 900 more homes for Total Urban and Rural Philippines compared to Kantar. They also have data which are statistically considered more representative of the total TV population.
In 2018, NUTAM’s client pool covered a total of 34 clients and subscribers consisting of eight local television networks which includes, ABS-CBN, TV5, Aksyon TV, CNN Philippines and Viva Communications, Inc. among others of three regional clients, two blocktimers and 21 agencies.
