- Tony Labrusca acknowledged his fans when he received compliments for his body, especially when from the mature and the elderly.
- The actor is not yet ready to showcase his body onscreen.
- Tony considered himself as a ‘baby’ in the showbiz and is the type who still felt the need for his mom to be always around him.
Tony Labrusca is fond of posting shirtless photographs of him after hitting the gym, on vacation, or whatever he did to showcase his physique.
Surprisingly, the actor is not aware that many fans fantasized or ogled on his figure.
When asked what is his reaction when people compliment his body, he said, “It is flattering. Pero to be honest, hindi po ako masyadong social media person. I learned from working with KathNiel na you shouldn’t read comments.
“So pag magpo-post ako, sige post lang.
“Hindi naman ako yung type na tsini-check ko yung comments at mag-i-scroll ako kung ano talaga yung mga sinasabi nila.”
The actor is more flattered when comments are from more mature people such as moms or grandmas.
“For me, yung pinaka-nakaka-touch na message talaga is pag yung mga nanay or mga lolas, nagko-comment sila na parang idol nila ako or nung mga anak nila, o yung grandchildren nila look up to me.
“Yon yung talagang nakaka-inspire, pero for anybody who does appreciate my body, thank you so much.”
He is also flattered when girls and gays praise his body but understood that it’s just human nature to admire the opposite sex. It’s no big deal for the actor and he to managed to be humble.
However, Labrusca is not yet that confident to showcase his body on TV. He asked his dear friend Joem Bascon about that and the latter advised him, “Bro, aabot ka sa time na magga-ganyan ka din, mag-iiba yung ano mo.’ So, sabi ko, I won’t just close my door, you know what I mean.”
For now, Tony will focus on whatever projects awarded to him. For him, he is just a ‘baby’ in showbiz.
Labrusca’s mom is always with him every time he has showbiz functions. It is safer when his mom around, he stressed.
“Kasi dati nga pag lumalabas kami, nando’n din yung mommy ko. I mean, wala silang masabi sa akin kasi nando’n yung mom ko. As long as my mom is there, I feel safe.
“It just so happens kasi na my mom lives with me, we have a house in Pasig. It just so happens that I’m always around my mom kasi she’s the only one that’s in the house.
“My stepfather kasi, he lives in Canada and he also stays in Camarines Sur. My biological dad is based in QC kasi, so it’s just natural na lagi kaming magkasama ng mom ko.”
He admitted that he is now closer to his mom.
“I think, just like everybody else, kami ng mommy ko, we really didn’t have that perfect relationship growing up. I mean, just like any mother and son, we used to fight a lot.
“Pero if you really work hard on something anything is possible and just like my relationship with my mom, we’re so much better now and we’re really close.”
