#WitchPlease: Netflix offers a gory take in the ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’

  • Kiernan Shipka gave Sabrina Spellman a major make-over in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
  • Netflix offers a gory and fresh new take on Sabrina’s story.
  • Sabrina’s hometown, Greendale, has far more devious intentions and gory outcomes.

Kiernan Shipka is the new Sabrina Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Debuting on October 26, Friday, Netflix offers a gory and fresh new take on Sabrina’s story. She is a half-breed (half human and half witch) who has to choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. She has to choose before or on her Sweet 16 birthday and Dark Baptism.

#CAOS and Riverdale.

#CAOS also stars Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Richard Coyle, Ross Lynch and Tati Gabrielle. Both Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Greg Berlanti are the executive producers of #CAOS and The CW‘s franchise of Archie Comics, Riverdale. Filming for #CAOS’ first season began just as the second season of Riverdale concludes, allowing the same crew members to work on both series.

Pilot episode.

LionhearTV was invited to a pre-viewing of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s pilot episode. The series has a sharp aesthetic which deviates from its sitcom-y predecessor which stars Melissa Joan Hart. This is a MAJOR make-over from the ’90s show we all know and love.

#CAOS has a not-so-typical teen dilemma: stay in the mortal world with her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) and their friends or sign her name into Satan’s book to gain her own power.

Sorry, Black Hood of Riverdale. Sabrina’s hometown, Greendale, has far more devious intentions and gory outcomes. The Weird Sisters: Prudence (Tati Gabrielle), Agatha (Adeline Rudolph) and Dorcas (Abigail Cowen) are sweeter than Madam Satan (Michelle Gomez) herself, the devil’s handmaiden.

Just the pilot episode will make you want to watch the whole series, so thank goodness for Netflix.
