Mel Tiangco doesn’t want to take all the credit for “Magpakailanman’s” continued success.
The show just celebrated its 6th Anniversary and Mel explained why it survived for this long.
She said, “I appreciate that. I’m very happy about that.
“Pero hindi lang ako ang ‘Magpakailanman,’ hindi lang ako. Andami-dami, andami-dami namin para mapaganda at maibigan ang ‘Magpakailanman’.
“You know una muna, we have our researchers, we have our writers, we have our editors, we have our cameramen, we have our location managers, we have our makeup artists…
“Andami niyan, hindi lang ako, and most of all, the subject of our stories who whole-heartedly shared their lives with us.”
The host added that the main reason why the show survived are the stories of the ordinary people.
‘Yun ang pinakamalaking bahagi ng success ng ‘Magpakailanman.’
“Mga taong nagtiwala sa ‘Magpakailanman,’ shinare (share) ang kanilang mga hirap sa buhay, ang kanilang mga ambitions, shinare nila sa amin ang mga frustrations and also their successes.
“’Yun ang pinakamabigat na factor in the success of ‘Magpakailanman’.”
Another big factor is that the show was able to prove that these people truly exist.
“In that manner, we are able to prove na totoo, totoong tao itong pini-feature namin.
“Hindi fiction, hindi lang ‘yan kunware nag-email, nagpadala ng sulat, whatever, ano.
“Kasi talagang nandodoon siya, kasama ko siya sa set,” Mel Tiangco ended.
