Paolo Contis returned on the big screen via his new comedy movie
Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap.
The said movie held a special screening on Friday, November 23 at Cine Adarna at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Contis has been with GMA Network for a decade now and when asked why he still chose to be a Kapuso, he said that he’s thankful for the trust that his home network has given him, especially when he was encountering big problems in life, which showed how loyal GMA-7 is to him.
“Hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman ng mga tao na may pinagdaanan ako when I was a Kapuso.
“During the time na Kapuso ako, diyan nangyari ‘yung mga malulungkot na parte ng buhay ko.“But GMA stayed loyal to me and gave me work. That shows na I should give my loyalty to them as well.”

For 6 years and counting, Contis is still part of the longest-running gag show
Bubble Gang. The Kapuso actor revealed that he is happy to be part of the gag show and even if he has film projects, he makes sure that he will still be in the gag show, no matter what.
“Para sa akin, lalo na yung Bubble Gang, suwerte ako.
“Ako naman kasi, yung comedy ko, it’s based on current events.“I don’t play characters, so mostly binabase ko ‘yung comedy ko sa current events or maybe some characters that I play.
“Nasa pagre-reinvent na rin siguro ‘yon.”
When asked about his role on his new comedy film, he said that it’s his first time to do such kind of role.

“Ito, first time kong gumawa ng ganitong klaseng role.
“Ayaw ko rin masyadong nakikita sa movie. Kasi, katulad niyan, masaya kayo na nakikita n’yo ako. Kung ikalima na ‘to, sasabihin n’yo lang, ‘Ikaw na naman’.”
He wants to have a little bit mystery of himself and wants the viewing public to ‘miss’ him sometimes,

“Pero feeling ko naman, sa reaksiyon ng mga tao sa Through Night and Day, ‘yung naging comments ng tao that’s one reason, it’s because they don’t see me sa big screen.
“Ito, malamang ang magiging reaksiyon nila dito [sa Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap], it’s me doing my comedy pa rin. Ayaw ko lang maging… Feeling ko kasi na it works na hindi ako masyadong nakikita sa pelikula.”
Contis then said that he has no plans of leaving comedy roles.
“Hindi ko iiwan ang comedy, mahal ko ‘yon. Mahal na mahal ko ‘yung comedy.“Pero kung wala na akong napapatawa siguro, baka panahon na para iwan ko ang comedy.“Pero ngayon, masaya pa naman yung mga tao na napapanood ako,”

Contis, in his latest film, he plays the role of a policeman who went undercover as a mugger.
