- Living up to Filipinos’ expectations, Catriona Gray won Miss Universe 2018 on Monday.
The Philippines now has four Miss Universe winners.
It’s been a long journey, but finally, the Miss Universe 2018 is crowned. Lots of talented and lovely women competed for the crown and title, but only one now has the crown–Miss Philippines Catriona Gray.
She was crowned the fourth Miss Universe from the Philippines. The colorful pageantry was held on Monday, December 17, Bangkok, Thailand.
Her victory at the 67th annual competition, she will be getting wide media exposure including tours not just in the city of New York, but also across the globe. The beauty pageant’s final night was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey.
Final question: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your life, and how would you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?
“I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is very poor, sad and I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it, to look in the beauty of the children and be grateful.”
“I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson.”
“If I could teach people to be grateful, we could have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children would have smiles on their faces.”
