- Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid upcoming sitcom to replace Home Sweetie Home
- BalitaNet’s source confirmed that the Saturday series is about to end
- Toni Gonzaga said that there is no announcement yet if the series will end
Regine Velasquez’s network transfer shook the showbiz industry, especially the most affected networks – ABS-CBN and GMA Network.
When Regine signed a contract with the Kapamilya network, a lot has changed with ABS-CBN, as if the whole network itself adjusted to accommodate the Asia’s Songbird.
ABS-CBN was able to reformat the long-running Sunday variety show ASAP. In a domino effect, it cost a lot of artists to lose their exposure to give highlight to Regine. Aside from the Sunday show, also included in her contract is a sitcom with his husband Ogie Alcasid. The said sitcom is set to replace the Saturday night rom-com Home Sweetie Home.
According to BalitaNet’s source, the Saturday rom-com was already scheduled to end since John Lloyd Cruz’s disappearance.
“Matagal na rin naman ang Home Sweetie Home, 4 years na. Wala namang pinupuntahan na ang kuwento kasi wala na si Lloydie. Ini-stretch na lang dahil kay Papa P (Piolo Pascual). Kung wala si Papa P, ano na ang kuwento?”
However, Toni Gonzaga, the lead star for the said series, stated that there is no announcement yet that it will about to conclude.
“So far sa ngayon, wala pa namang advice sa amin. Pero if ever kasi noong pumirma ako sa contract ko under ABS-CBN, part pa ‘yung Home Sweetie Home. So hindi ko pa alam.
“Pero siyempre, things can actually change. Hindi rin natin masasabi.”
When asked how the series is going on, she replied, “Okay naman siya, name-maintain pa naman namin ang ratings so, thankful naman kami na may mga solid viewers’ pa rin ang Home Sweetie Home.
“I think, whatever happens with Home Sweetie Home, ganu’n naman talaga. Shows come and go.”
