  • AksyonTV by TV5 rebrands to “5 Plus”.
  • The new and improved channel will now feature extreme sports and eSports.
  • Common Philippine sports such as basketball and volleyball will continue to air.

Channel 5’s sister channel, AksyonTV, rebrands to “5 Plus” channel featuring more than news and sports. The new 5 Plus will also be airing eSports tournaments soon.

President and CEO of TV5 Vincent Reyes announced, “We are so excited to launch 5 Plus with our goal of serving atypical sports content that don’t usually receive visibility.

“As we expand our sports coverage, we get to attract a new audience and younger sports fans. Now we have 5 and 5 Plus to cement our foothold in sports in the country.”

5 Plus, unlike its old name, will no longer feature common sports such as basketball and volleyball. The new and improved channel will feature other extreme sports such as BMX Bikes and Skateboarding.

Moreover, the TV 5 sister channel will air eSports starting with “The Nationals” which include games such as DOTA 2, Mobile Legends, Tekken, and other games.

It will continue to air the National Basketball Center League and national Cheerleading Championships. On the other hand, All Radyo5 news programs will be transferred to CIGNAL.
