  • The ‘Ulan’ movie sadly did not meet the needed revenue to be held as box office hit
  • Nadine Lustre is bashed as ‘Flop Queen’
  • ‘Ulan’ director, Irene Villamor, defended Nadine Lustre

Nadine Lustre is starring in her first solo film without onscreen and real-life boyfriend James Reid. In the film ‘Ulan’, which is said to be a movie about self-love and acceptance, Nadine shared stellar billing with box office actor Carlo Aquino. ‘Ulan’ is a romantic-drama film which created a trend online for its uniquely plotted story line, but bombed at the tills.

On March 13, the movie premier  tested the local film industry’s impact on Filipino viewers. Unfortunately, the update came up with the info that it also did not catch much attention of the viewers, as sales were not as high as expected.

Sadly, despite the excitement and curiosity that netizens shared in the online world and made the movie a much-awaited story to watch out for, it did not make impressive turnover.

Though it was not bad as it somehow hit P3-4 million on its first day of screening and over 200+ cinemas are still screening the movie, still it did not make an impressive revenue to make it a box office hit.

In an Instagram post by the Kapamilya actor, Carlo, Munting palaruan noong aking kabataan.”

While the post received mostly positive comments, an Instagram user thought otherwise and wrote that Nadine was a “flop queen.”

“Box office star with flop queen. Good luck @ayrin and Carlo,” the Instagram user said.

On March 19, Irene responded to an Insta Scoop question raised by an Instagram user on the ‘Ulan’ revenue.

Various reactions from netizens rooted from the comment. While some of the comments favored the movie, still there were viewers not satisfied with Nadine’s acting and portraying of her character. The actress is bashed as ‘Flop Queen.’
