In 2011, during Joey de Leon’s interview, on ABS-CBN’s morning talk show ‘KrisTV,’ he detailed his working experience back in 1968. He shared it with the show’s host Kris Aquino.
The guesting was part of the promotion for a film together with Gerald Anderson and Sarah Geronimo.
“Dito sa ABS-CBN proud ako sabihin I worked here in 1968. Ang sweldo namin gusto mong marinig? Ang sweldo namin noon, na si Jake Lopez pa ang boss ko, inabot ko pa ang lolo ni Gabby Lopez III. Ang sweldo ay P200 a month (that time ay malaki na ‘yon) noong ginawa kaming permanent matindi naging P210, totoo ‘yan nasa akin pa ang papel,” said De Leon.
On March 1, de Leon posted a throwback photo of the document that he was referring back in 2011. The photo is the actual document that stated his employment status in ABS-CBN as a regular radio disc jockey.

Below was his statement in his interview on ‘KrisTV’ back in 2011, wherein he expressed how much he was glad to receive back then.
“Kaya mayabang ako pagdating sa ABS-CBN, kaya noong pumapasok ako ang ngiti ko hanggang tenga, bukod sa makikita kita, natutuwa ako parang homecoming. Ako lang ang nakaupo sa pitong himpilan sa Bohol, pwede ako sa lahat, pwede ako sa Tagalog, sa English.”
Prior to the throwback photo of his regularization paper, he recently posted a throwback photo of his old I.D. in ABS-CBN.
