‘Onanay’ had been a tight competitor against its rival show, where both primetime series were on a neck-to-neck battle in viewership. As the show concluded, will the succeeding series Sahaya be able to also cope up with the same level of intensity as it goes against ‘The General’s Daughter,’ where top-caliber stars cast the show?
The new drama ‘Sahaya’ will be an inspiring story of a determined and special Badjao woman, who wholeheartedly embraces her own heritage and identity as she rises above all difficult life circumstances that will challenge her resiliency, and she goes towards success, and admiration, even defying the power of love.
While ‘The General’s Daughter’ is an action drama series that sees a woman being caught between two families – the De Leons and the Guerreros. Growing up under the care of the Guerreros, she is made to believe that the De Leons are their enemies, not realizing they are her true parents. She will then be defying all the challenges and struggles as she journeys on in life.
Both are starred in by strong-willed and empowered women, and both stories seek to inspire, empower, and generally make the viewers feel proud of their roots.
Though going against ‘The General’s Daughter’ is tough, being held as the biggest teleserye this year, ‘Sahaya,’ with its unique plot can somewhat win over it. This is for us to find out in the succeeding episodes.
