  • “Be careful what you say to yourself. Only YOU can kill YOUR own future through YOUR words.”
  • Toni Gonzaga gives a piece of advice on conquering hate comments
  • Toni proved that she is no longer affected by the harsh criticisms that bashers hit her

ABS-CBN’s most sought-after actress, singer, and host Toni Gonzaga is one of those stars in the entertainment industry that receives a lot of hate comments and bashing from netizens.

But Toni proved that being in the industry for so long, she already learned how to address and manage the hurtful criticisms.

On Monday, March 04, Toni posted a statement in her Instagram stories addressing her critics on social media by sarcastically stating that if hate comments could kill then maybe she have been long gone.

“Nakakatuwang magbasa ng assumptions ng tao. If words could kill, matagal na siguro akong patay at pinaglalamayan ngayon.”

But Toni otherwise proved that if there is anything that she learned in her long stay in the showbiz industry, it is the advice that these words cannot affect us if we ourselves won’t let these words hurt us.

“Pero praise God because we are still here and surviving the harsh words against us and also for giving us the most powerful weapon to rebuke it. Other peoples’ words won’t kill you. You know what will? YOUR own.”

“Be careful what you say to yourself. Only YOU can kill YOUR own future through YOUR words.”

Toni has previously addressed this in an interview with Philstar, where she shared that these criticisms do not hurt her anymore.

“Sobra! Isa ako sa pinaka-bina-bash at pinaka-hini-hate.”

“[But] I’ve learned the value of knowing what to ignore,” she added. “Three or four years ago, I admit that I was oh-so affected by bashers. But now, go ahead, they can flood the social media with all the bashing that they want.”
