Sloppy is one word to describe the standing of the movies ‘Last Fool Show’ and ‘Stranded’ in cinemas, since their premiere last Wednesday, April 10.
Despite the good outcome of both movies, left and right promotions, and positive reviews, these 2 local films seem to have a hard time winning the interests of viewers.
According to Philstar.com, as of April 12, Last Fool Show has earned an amount of 1.8 million, while Stranded has earned more or less 400 thousand only.
Last Fool Show is a romantic-comedy film directed by Eduardo Roy, Jr. starring Arci Muñoz and JM De Guzman under Star Cinema. This is the first movie project of Arci and JM top-billed together.
Stranded, on the other hand is a Regal film production top-billed by Jessy Mendiola and Arjo Atayde, under the direction of Ice Idanan.
Jessy also starred in the movie ‘The Girl in the Orange Dress,’ together with Jericho Rosales, that was released on December 25, 2018. And just like Stranded, her previous movie didn’t became a box-office hit.
Unlike Last Fool Show and Stranded, foreign movies Shazam and Hellboy which also premiered last April 10, are obviously more in demand by Filipino viewers.
Also, the much-anticipated ‘biggest movie of 2019’ – Avengers: Endgame – is set to premiere on April 24.
Tickets are already out in most cinemas and online stores, and unsurprisingly, many availed of the tickets already.
Surely, Avenger fans are very excited to watch the movie and find out who will survive; how will Thanos’ cruelty end; and what will be the endgame of the movie.
But it’s not the end for our local films because there’s still a new week to come and the fact that next week is ‘payday’ for most workers, surely, these two films will be able to recuperate. Also, Jessy’s supportive boyfriend had promised a block-screening for their friends.
