The 102-year-old Filipino tribal tattoo artist Apo Whang Od showed a playful yet naughty side of her when she touched the crotch of Kapuso talent Paolo Ballesteros, after giving him the traditional mambabatok tattoo.
Apo Whang is from the rich culture of province Kalinga and has been the last living proof of the tribe’s batok (hand-tapping) culture. After her art was shown publicly, many netizens have traveled far just so they can get a tattoo from the mambabatok’s hands and one of the lucky ones was the Kapuso talent Paolo Ballesteros.
In an Instagram post, Paolo happily shared a captured moment with the legendary tattooist while touching his crotch. He captioned, “mabilis talaga kamay ni Apo Whang-Od 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘”
This playful act is actually not the first, as many travelers have already witnessed and experienced the fun side of Apo Whang. This comes to say that the act is somewhat also a tradition for the artist.
Also, together with Paolo to share the rare moment was the Queen of Dubsmash Maine Mendoza, as they shoot for ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ much-awaited Lenten special.
Many other celebrities have also witnessed and tried the traditional tattooing of Apo Whang Od. There was the sexy star Rhian Ramos who already got a second tattoo from the artist.
The singer Aiza Seguerra who formerly had been tattooed by Apo Whang but still comes back for more together with wife Liza Dino, who she has convinced to be inked.
The adventurous Drew Arellano also got a tattoo as he shared this little secret in his Instagram account. The former ‘Eat Bulaga’ host Patricia Tumulak also got inked. The veteran actor Raymart Santiago also got inked to show his support to the artist. Lastly, the avid marathoner Kim Atienza also had his tattoo on his right arm.
