  • Two female leads are fighting over their audiences nationwide

The battle between the primetime shows – ABS-CBN’s action packed series ‘The General’s Daughter’ and GMA Network’s drama series ‘Sahaya’ – is rising all throughout the night on who will gain the #1 rank in their timeslot.

On GMA Network’s ‘Sahaya,’ the show has escalated on, still on the search of Sahaya’s (Bianca Umali) whereabouts by her family, not knowing that Sahaya was staying with his biological father. When Ahmad, played by Miguel Tan Felix, with Sahaya’s mom (Mylene Dizon), had found out where she was, Sahaya’s mom decided that they better not get Sahaya back since she knew that she’s staying with his father and could have a better future ahead.

On ‘The General’s Daughter’ latest events, Rhian, played by lead star Angel Locsin, and Elijah, played py Arjo Atayde, was held captive by her foster father and the antagonist, Santiago, played by veteran actor Tirso Cruz III. In exchange for Rhian’s freedom, Rhian needed to kill Marcial, played by Albert Martinez, who, in reality, is Rhian’s dad.

On the data provided by the Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), the results are the following:

Last Monday, May 6, ‘Sahaya’ triumphed with 13.5% against ‘The General’s Daughter’ with only a 12.4% in rating.

Last May 7, Tuesday, ‘Sahaya’ had lost with a 1.6% gap having 12.0%, while ‘The General’s Daughter’ was winning with 13.6% in rating

On Wednseday, May 8, ‘Sahaya’ ranked No. 2 again, garnering 12.0%. Ranking first, ‘The General’s Daughter’ had 13.4%.

And last Friday, May 10, in the battle between the two, ‘Sahaya’ had gained its spot back with 11.2% against ‘The General’s Daughter’ with 11.0%.

The two shows have different genres that, maybe, is one of the main factors that attracts the viewers in watching and catching up with it every night. The diversity between the two, and its new kind of story line, really fancies the viewers’ interest.

The inconsistencies between the 2 programs in ruling their time slot really shows how well the shows are progressing.
