- Robin Padilla and Phillip Salvador share an update on Eddie Garcia
- The two actors visited Garcia in the ICU and asked for prayers
Actors Phillip Salvador and Robin Padilla went to the Makati Medical Center to visit Pinoy showbiz icon Eddie Garcia.
On Sunday, June 9, 2019, the two actor went to the NeuroSciences and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of the Makati Medical Center to check on the condition of veteran actor Eddie Garcia.
The 90-year old actor figured in an accident last Saturday, June 8, 2019 during a taping of his latest teledrama with GMA, network Rosang Agimat.
In the video reposted by Jayvey Romero on Facebook, Garcia could be seen tripping over a cable as he was running.
News initially broke out that Garcia had a severe heart attack.
Later on, his family and his doctor clarified that the veteran actor suffered a severe neck injury and not a heart attack.
Meanwhile, Robin Padilla on his Facebook page shared a video of Phillip Salvador giving an update on the condition of the veteran actor.
In the video, Salvador clarified that Garcia had an accident and did not suffer from a heart attack.
“Hindi po siya inatake. Mahusay po at matibay ang puso ni Eddie Garcia. Nadisgrasya po siya, naaksidente po siya. Sumabit po ang paa niya sa kable,” he said.
He clarified that the 90-year old legend of Philippine cinema had a bad fall from after tripping on a cable because he didn’t want to use a stunt double.
“Siya po ay 90 years old. So, hindi po siya nakabalanse, so bumagsak po siya at hindi maganda ang kanyang pagbagsak. Hindi po siya inatake gaya ng inyong narinig. Bilib po kami kay Eddie Garcia dahil ayaw ho niyang magpa-double, nobenta-anyos na po siya,” Salvador added.
Aside from the Facebook video, Padilla also took to Instagram to post a photo of himself and Salvador together with Senator-elect Bong Go visiting the ICU of the Makati Medical Center.

The two then asked for prayers for “Manoy” for his fast recovery.
“Hinihiling po namin sa inyo ngayon, dasal para sa ating isa pang hari ng pelikulang Pilipino na si Eddie Garcia. Tayong lahat, ipagdasal po natin siya na maka-recover po. Kasi po, dasal ang pinakamalakas na panlaban sa kahit anumang sakit.”
