  • Shaina Magdayao has denied the network transfer rumors
  • The ‘Past, Present, Perfect’ star finally addressed rumors about offers from the rival network
  • Shaina has been with ABS-CBN for more than 23 years

Earlier this year, a blind item came out about how a Kapamilya female celebrity who has an actress sister was allegedly set to transfer to the rival network. Shaina Magdayao and Alex Gonzaga became the subject of the rumors but on Twitter, Alex immediately dispelled the network transfer rumor.

Two months after the rumored network transfer, Shaina Magdayao faced the media to promote the iWant digital series ‘Past, Present, Perfect?’ together with co-stars Loisa Andalio and Vin Abrenica.

Speaking to reporters after the press conference, the Kapamilya star for 23 years finally addressed the rumors. “I am a Kapamilya. I am here in ABS (CBN). We are all here in ABS. We just finished doing another project for ABS, which is Past, Present, Perfect? Sa buong karera ko, sa buong pinagdaanan ko, hindi naman natin maaalis na magpapasalamat ako, number one, sa ABS dahil dito na ako lumaki but, number two, also sa kabilang istasyon dahil doon ako nagsimula.”

When asked if she will even consider it if there is an offer from the other network, Shaina answered, “Kung may offer man, malalaman niyo naman eh. But right now, I’m here in ABS in front of you. Walang galaw na nangyayari. Ang galaw ay ang pag-uwi.”

When asked about her contract renewal with ABS-CBN, Shaina said that she was not able to fo it yet because of her busy schedule.

“Meron po [offer to renew] kaya lang alis po ako ng alis. Ang daming nangyayari. Jetlagged pa ako. Hindi pa settled lahat pero nagpapasalamat na ako sa lahat ng magagandang nangyayari sa akin. I’ve been telling myself na pahinga muna pero habang nagpapahinga ako, may nangyayaring ganito. Napaka-generous talaga ng Panginoon when it comes to blessing me and my career,” she stated.

In ‘Past, Present, Perfect?,’ Magdayao plays the older version of Shantal, a writer who is facing a major roadblock in her career. She looks to her past – including her first love and heartbreak – to move forward in her present life.
