GMA Network’s Entertainment Group inked a partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) last June 20, for the highly-anticipated Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama series, Descendants of the Sun.
On Wednesday, a traditional boodle fight welcome meal was given by Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) to members of the cast at Tanza, Cavite.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and the cast of the Philippine Adaptation of “Descendants of Sun” joins the officers and enlisted personnels of ARESCOM Tanza, Cavite to a “welcoming” tradition boodle fight for lunch. The DOTS cast are in Tanza for their military orientation and training.
Right after lunch, war fighting training started with the lead cast members Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith along with supporting cast members Prince Clemente, Paul Salas, Lucho Ayala, and newest Kapuso actor Jon Lucas.
Besides from 40ft.-long rappeling and target shooting, the cast was exposed to various vehicle and arsenal training headed by Major General Bernie S. Langub of AFP.
With the training just beginning, the cast can expect more intensive activities for real-life military action.
Meanwhile, Dingdong reminisced about his previous intensive Marine Officer’s Basic Training held at Ternate, Cavite last 2006.
“Nakakatuwa kasi siyempre this time kasama ko ‘yung mga co-actors ko.
“And I’m very excited, lalo na sa mga first timers, kung ano ‘yung magiging experience nila dito, ” he shared in an interview with Chika Minute news anchor Nelson Canlas.
Dingdong will play the role of Big Boss in the adaptation. His leading lady has yet to be confirmed.
