Unlike its previous Saturday timeslot, Wagas will now air every day with each story lasting a month. This new Kapuso program is set to launch in August 2019.
Wagas is a collection of real, extraordinary love stories that will inspire viewers and will definitely change their perceptions of true love.
Because of its inspiring content, Wagas was recognized by different award-giving bodies and won several awards. These include the Gold Camera for Docudrama during the 2014 US International Film and Video Festival for the extraordinary love story of Ron Sapinoso, who had a cerebral palsy, and his wife Mary Grace.
The show was also recognized by the US International Film and Video Festival on 2016 for the “Gabriela and Diego Silang Story.”
The multi-awarded program was first launched by GMA News TV on February 9, 2013. For six years, the program featured different true love stories of famous celebrities, politicians, TV personalities, and even non-showbiz couples who share an everlasting love.
Due to the decision of GMA News TV to reboot their channel, many shows were affected including Wagas and Mars. With this reason, these two shows and other programs of the said channel had to end.
On May 25, 2019, Wagas aired its final episode of Wagas Hanggang Wakas: Emma and Pedro Story.
Aside from Wagas, Mars Pa More will also be broadcast by GMA Network in their morning block pitting with ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay.
